Erin Hope had a
follow-up CT scan yesterday at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC.
Preliminary reports state that it looks very good and the doctors are very
pleased. After the scan, we ran into one of Erin Hope's surgeons in the
hallway. (We believe God put him there right after her scan.)
He was walking with one of his residents and he stopped and talked with us.
He asked if we were going to be doing any more chemo and we said that it
depends on the scan that she just had. He asked did they have it ready
and we told him we thought so. He stopped what he was doing and said
"lets go look at them" and turned the opposite way he was previously
going and walked with us. We had to go back to the oncology clinic and
he said that he could not pull up her scans on the computer up there.
So, he got off on another floor to look at them and said he would call the
oncology clinic to let us know the results. When w! e got up there, Erin
Hope's blood work results were back and the counts were back down. The
decision was made to admit her long enough to receive a blood transfusion.
The surgeon called back up telling us that both he and the radiologists
reviewed her scans and they look very good! Praise the Lord! The
tumor board at Baptist Hospital was to meet yesterday and our guess would be
that she won't have to have anymore chemo. We have not heard officially
yet.
It took a couple of
hours to get the blood ready to transfuse so we went to eat. We were
very hungry. It was around 3:30 in the afternoon and we had not had
anything to eat since breakfast. We left Baptist Hospital last night
around 9:15 and got home without any problems. As many of you know, we
had a major snow and ice storm knocking out power to over 2 million homes in
our state. Thank God our power has stayed on with the exception of a
couple of "flickers".
Please continue praying
for Erin Hope and our family. Erin Hope's father has final exams this
coming week and is in need of your prayers. God bless you and thanks so
much!
God is good...ALL the
time!
