Hope this update finds you well and blessed.  Erin Hope has started her new regimen of chemotherapy and has been on it about 3 weeks.  She takes a new chemo orally for 2 weeks straight and then takes a one week break and then starts again.  She also gets shots 3 nights a week that originally made her feel like she had a bad case of the flu but is now tolerating those better.  She had to stop the oral chemo a few days earlier because she was having toxic side effects that interfered with her ability to walk comfortably and to use her hands for necessary tasks.  In other words, she was experiencing pain in the bottom of her feet and in her finger tips.  She was supposed to start those back yesterday but her blood counts were too low.  We will plan on starting those next week.  She is still however, continuing the shots.  These shots are a different immune system builder than what she had taken before and actually can aid her immune system in cleaning out tumorous or abnormal cells in the body.

A lot has been going on lately and I apologize for not getting an update sooner and for not getting new pictures posted to the photo album.  I'll get new pictures up as soon as I can.

Erin Hope went yesterday to Charlotte, NC  to do a radio interview at Magic 96.1 FM (www.magic96.com) for the upcoming Make-A-Wish radiothon they will be having tomorrow (11-12-03).  Erin Hope will be featured in one of the radio ads.  She is also going to be on the cover of the Charlotte area Make-A-Wish brochure with one of the dolphins that she swam with.  Please make a crucial donation to Make-A-Wish this year so that other children like Erin Hope can experience joy like she did on her Wish.  www.makeawish.org .

Erin Hope is also the Honorary Chairman of the local 2004 American Cancer Society's "Relay for Life" fundraiser.  She recently attended a "kickoff" celebration along with several of her fellow cheerleaders from her school.  The cheerleaders got everyone in high spirits to start off this campaign.

She will also ride in the Raleigh, NC Christmas parade on a float that is sponsored by Clay Aiken's (of American Idol fame) foundation for autistic and special needs.  Clay Aiken is also this years parade Marshall.  She is excited about this since she is a big fan of his.

Also, Erin Hope's church is sponsoring a benefit golf tournament for Erin Hope this December 6th.  I know, that is what I said.  "A golf tournament in December?!"  Anyway, it is called The Tournament of Hope.  It will be held at the Buffalo Shoals National Golf Club in Statesville, NC.  The course is located off of the Sharon School Rd. exit # 141 I-40.  The format is 4 man Captain's Choice.  The cost is $60 per person and includes, greens fees, cart fees, and lunch.  I'm not sure as to the start time but they have received a lot of community support and corporate sponsorship.  Portions of the proceeds will also benefit the American Cancer Society and the Make-A-Wish organization.  The committee forming this is very excited!  For further information you may contact the church's office at 704-876-1520.

As always, thanks so much for praying for Erin Hope and our family.  She will be having another CT scan on Dec. 4th.  Please pray for good results.
God bless you!
