Erin Hope was released from
Baptist Hospital today. PRAISE THE LORD!!! The first thing she
wanted to do was to go to the mall. Go figure. All of the doctors
are just amazed at the progress she has made and are thrilled!! She has
not had to have any pain medicine for 2 days now. She feels pretty good
but a little weak.
I want to be very specific in
our prayer requests. In a couple of weeks, Erin Hope will have to start
more chemo treatments. Please pray that they will work and that she will
tolerate them well. The reason for more chemo is this: the tumor
that was occupying most of the right side of her liver was not all solid
tumor. There was a solid tumor but there were also "satellite"
tumors from the solid tumor elsewhere within the right side of her liver.
This means that it was spread to the other parts by the blood stream within
the liver. This also means that there may be little areas of tumor on
the left side of her liver that are too small to be seen by CT scan. We
want the chemo to kill off any unseen tumors, if any. She will have 2
more rounds of chemo and then follow up with more CT scans to watch.
Erin Hope, and we, are excited
about having her home. All of the nurses were saying "I can't
believe she is going home, she looks great!" When we saw her right
after surgery, she was the most beautiful little girl in the world...she still
is.
Please continue to pray.
God is working in our midst all around us and we are so blessed to be a part
of it. Please keep checking back and sending e:mails and signing the
guestbook. These are such and inspiration to us all. We'll keep
you posted on her progress.
Please don't forget the two
benefit singings coming just around the corner. Thursday, Oct. 24 at
Winkler's Grove Baptist Church in Hickory, NC at 7:00 pm and Saturday, Oct. 26
at South River Baptist Church. The one in Statesville will have a
barbecue chicken dinner with baked beans, slaw, rolls and desserts with
hot dogs for the kids from 4:00 - 6:00 pm and singing starting at 7:00
pm. I'll try and get directions up on the website to both of these
places.
Thank you and God bless you!
