Erin Hope has had a fantastic day!  She is now off of the ventilator and able to stand with assistance and sit in a chair.  They have pulled out her nasogastric (NG) tube and her central line that was in her neck.

She is able to talk with a little hoarseness.  Verbal communication is always a great source of frustration and anxiety for a patient on a ventilator and Erin Hope was no exception.  Her temperature is down and she is feeling much better.  She still has a tube going through her nose going to her intestines giving her nutrition.  Maybe tomorrow she can have some clear liquids to drink.  She may also move out of the pediatric ICU tomorrow.

We are so pleased with her doctors and the care she is receiving at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC.  The surgeon that removed her liver tumor had to go out of town but has been calling his partners every day to speak with them about Erin Hope.  Other doctors that have worked with her now walk by the room and look in and smile with a sense of wonder and accomplishment.  I'm sure that most of them stand in awe of a mighty God as well.  Every doctor and nurse that she has had has been to her website.

Thanks so much for your continued prayers.  Our God is an AWESOME God.  He is an "on-time God".  And, He is good ALL the time!

Please continue to pray for her speedy recovery.  This is just one of the first and no doubt the largest hurdle that she has had to cross.  Thanks be to God and His marvelous, boundless, unchanging, everlasting grace.  We could have been mourning at this time but God has chosen for us, and you, to rejoice!
