Erin Hope came home from Baptist Hospital yesterday afternoon. She is doing quite well. However, she still has a little cough but no fever. Her blood work looks good. Last night she felt well enough to go to and participate with her class in the Talent Show her school was giving. And she went to school this morning.
They repeated the CT scan of her chest, abdomen, and pelvis yesterday before she came home. And the verdict is...The tumor has decreased in size approximately 20-25%! And...remember the tumor she had on her left lung which was quite large? IT IS GONE, CHECKED OUT, OUTA' HERE, FINITO! PRAISE THE LAMB OF CALVARY!! She still has a couple of spots on her right lung but there is discussion as to whether those were tumor to begin with. She did have a bad pneumonia when she was an infant and that may be residual scar tissue from that.
The oncologists and the surgeons will come up with a 'game plan'today and first of next week as to whether to do another round of chemo (which would be next weekend)or to go ahead and do surgery. Our choice is to do more chemo since there is still tumor in the major blood vessel (inferior vena cava) going back to the heart.
Please forgive me for the tardiness of this update. My computer monitor (and maybe computer also) decided to crash
on Wednesday and we're still trying to get it working.
Once again, thanks so much for your continued prayers and well wishes. Please continue to pray. Also, be looking for the dates and places for the benefit gospel singings that are coming up. One in Statesville, NC and one in Hickory, NC. As time gets closer, we'll have times and directions posted on the website.
Isn't God good?
