Erin Hope remains in Baptist Hospital tonight.
Her fever is being well controlled and she is doing fine. However, she
does have a "low-grade" fever. Her white blood cell count was
very low as well as her hematocrit (helps blood to clot-stop bleeding).
They took some blood for blood cultures but we won't know anything for a
couple of days. The doctors say that she needs to stay in the hospital
until possibly Thursday of this week. This is so she can receive IV
antibiotics and be watched carefully. She is at an increased risk for
getting a bad infection (if she doesn't already have one) and we just need to
be careful. The last time that I talked to her she was doing some
homework and laughing. (That's funny...I never laughed when I did
homework!) Hey, wait a minute... I still have to do homework and I still
don't laugh while I'm doing it!
The doctors may also go ahead later this
week and repeat the CT scan of her chest, abdomen, and pelvis instead of
waiting until next Monday as they had scheduled. Please pray that the
tumors will be smaller or even gone.
Your prayers and God's grace are what keeps us
going and doing the daily things we need to do. We so appreciate the
love that you extend to us. Every day, God grants us NEW mercy to
overcome the day's trials, difficulties and disappointments. So far, we
have more good days than bad. And, of course, He always gives us HOPE!
