Erin Hope was supposed to be admitted to Baptist Hospital today if her blood work was okay.  Her blood work was not okay.  Her white blood cell count was too low; in fact, it has fallen some since this past Monday.  Her platelets were at the minimum level.  This admission was already postponed one week.  She was supposed to have gone back last week but her platelets were too low.  What does all this mean?  For one, it allows her to take a break from chemo.  Thats the good part.  Secondly, since her chemo will be delayed for at least 2 weeks, this is an indication that her bone marrow has been stressed by all of the chemo and it is taking longer for her to recover.  Thirdly, without chemo, the greater the chance of the cancer lesions to increase.

It is not all that uncommon for the bone marrow to show indications of stress after chemo.  Nonetheless, we are concerned.  Her bone marrow is still able to make new blood cells but at a much slower rate.  This is indicated by the increase in her platelets since Monday.  The plan now is to repeat her blood work on Monday and try for an admission for chemo on Tuesday.

Thank you to those of you who are faithful to lift up her in prayer.  Please continue.  Since her white blood cells (WBC) are low, there is a chance of her becoming quite ill if she is exposed to someone who is sick.  Right now she is feeling well.

God bless you!  We love you!

God is good...ALL the time!
