Erin Hope went to
Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC today for a check-up and to access
and flush her port-a-cath. The doctor said that she checks out fine and
looks very good. We have not yet received the results from her blood
work that was done today.
However, this evening,
Erin Hope started running a fever of almost 102 and was feeling very tired.
At this moment(9:15 p.m.), she is on her way back to Baptist Hospital to the
emergency room at the request of the oncology doctor on call. She says
that often when a port-a-cath is accessed, especially after a few weeks of not
being accessed, the patient can start running a fever and could lead to a
serious infection. The plan, at this point, is to do some blood cultures
and start her on IV antibiotics. She should be able to come home later
tonight or early in the morning.
Please pray that she
will be okay. We know that God is in control and He will take care of
her.
Thanks so much and God
bless you
