Erin Hope continues to do well. Her hair is growing back and she is as strong as ever. She is now outgrowing her clothes that she was wearing
before we found out she had cancer. The family went to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, TN this past weekend and had a great time. The kids
particularly enjoyed the swimming, but Mom and Dad enjoyed the hot tub and watching the kids have fun. The kids liked the hot tub as well.
Erin Hope will be going back to the doctor at Baptist Hospital this Thursday to have her port-a-cath accessed and flushed and to have a
check-up. She is so happy to be feeling well but not so happy to be in school every week day. She definitely enjoyed the 3 snow days out of
school recently.
Some of you may have noticed recently that Ashley Olsen, of Mary-Kate and Ashley fame, recently visited Erin Hope's website and signed the
guest book. When we found out, Erin Hope was extremely excited and jumped up and down for a while. Hannah and Erin Hope are very big fans
of theirs. Please visit the guest book section and go to January 17, 2003 and check it out.
As most of you know, Erin Hope's dad is a respiratory therapist who is currently in nursing school. He got to know some of the nurses in the
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC and was impressed by their teamwork and knowledge. He
graduates from school in May and has already gotten a job in the PICU at Baptist Hospital after he graduates and passes his nursing boards. He
is very excited!
Please check out some recent pictures. We are still working on getting the photo album organized so that it will be easier for you. Here is a direct link to pictures for this particular update.
Please also continue to pray for Erin Hope that the cancer will not return, ever. Some of you are praying for her daily and we really are
thankful for you. God is surely in control of her life and has blessed her and us beyond measure. We love you so very much! God bless you!
Stand Strong! (In your faith) Recently, someone told me that sometimes you can't be strong and that you have to let Jesus be strong for you.
That is so true. But, "Standing Strong!" means being steadfast and consistent in your faith in Jesus Christ. It can be so easy to not be
so strong in your faith when life is good and cry out to God for help when things go wrong. God is God in the easy times just as much as he
is in the tough times. He is ALWAYS there leading, guiding, and holding to your hand (unless YOU let go). We must praise Him in the good AND
the bad times. We must cling to him EVERY day, not just the bad ones. Because...God is good...ALL the time.
